WHEREAS, the 1957 contract for the construction of and repair
of sidewalks in the City of St. Paul, Comptroller's Contract L -5875
Pederson Bros, contractors, has been completed, with the exception of
a few small orders which have been delayed by causes beyond the control
of the contractor, and
WHEREAS, Said contractor requests that a portion of the five
percent (5 %) retained from estimates for work done under this contract
during 1957 and 1958 be paid in advance of the final completion of the
contract, and
A.S, the Commissioner of Public Works and the Chief Engi�
neer of said department approve the payment at this time of $21000.00
of the $2,125.33 retained percentage for the aforesaid contract; there-
fore be it
RESOLVED, That the proper City officers be and they are hereby
authorized to pay an estimate in the amount of $2,000.00 from the re-
tained percentage of $2,125.33 to said contractor; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution shall have no force or
effect unless the sureties on the contractor's bond consent thereto in
writing and file such consent with the City Comptroller.
