Whereas, The 1958 contract for the
construction of and repair of sidewalks
in the City of St. Paul, Comptroller's

tractors, has been completed, with the
exception of a few small orders which
have been delayed by causes beyond

WHEREAS the 1956 contract for the construction of and repair
of sidewalks in the City of St. Paul, Comptrollers Contract L -5749
Pederson Bros. Contractors, has been completed, with the exception
of a few small orders which have been delayed by causes beyond the
control of the contractor, and
WHEREAS., Said contractor requests that a portion of the five
percent (5%) retained from estimates for work done under this con -
tract during 1956 and 1957 be paid in advance of the final com-
pletion of the contract, and
WHERFaSp the Commissioner of Public Works and the Chief "Engineer
of,said department approve the payment at this time of $2 .,000000 of
the $2,452.54 retained percentage for the aforesaid contract; therefore
be it
RESOLVED,, That the proper City officers be and they are hereby
authorized to pay an estimate in the amount of $2 .,000.00 from the re-
tained percentage of $2,452.54 to said contractor; and be it

FURTHER RESOLVED,, That this resolution shall have no force or
effect unless the sureties on the contractorts bond consent thereto
in writing and file such consent with the City Comptroller.
