RESOLUTION
OF PAUL, MINNESOTA

SUPPORTING STATE PLANNING FUNDS
FOR WARNER ROAD BRIDGE RECONSTRUCTION
V✓HEREAS, Wamer Road on the east side of Saint Paul is a Ramsey County roadway with east-bound bridge improvements
scheduled for 2010; and,
WHEREAS, Warner Road is a major traffic artery through the city's Nationa] Great River Park and has the potentia] to
interconnect five park access points at Battle Creek Park, Pig's Eye Lake, Mounds Park, Bruce Vento Nature Sanctuary and
Riverfront Park; and,
WHEREAS, the current configuration of the east bound bridge provides little access for bicyclists and pedestrians and few
amenities to enhance the connec[ion with the National Great River Park; and,
WHEREAS, the scheduled bridge improvements provide a key opportunity to expand access to the riverfront, create safer
connections for bicyclists a�d pedestrians, and add amenities consistent with designs for the Natioual Great River Park; and,
WHEREAS, development of a master plan is crucial to capitalize on this opportunity and leverage the resources associated with
bridge improvements;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that The City of Saint Paul supports legislation directing state funds for planning
purposes to enhance the Wamer Road bridge as part of the overall improvements being made to the bridge in 2010.
