OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK OUNCIL RESOLUTION-:-GENERAL FORM PRESENTED BY COMMISSIONER DATE Ye Mr q 5M 5 -58 f WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota has, by condemnation proceedings, condemned and taken Stewart Park in the City of Saint Paul; and `WHEREAS, the heirs and successors of the interest of Edmund'Rice, the original grantor of Stewart Park, have made a claim that under the terms of the dedication of this tract, there is a reversionary right in said heirs, namely: Hildegarde Rice, Katharine Rice, Edmund Rice and Caroline Hern; and' WHEREAS, the Corporation Counsel's office has,'after lengthy negotiations, come to the position where the Rice heirs are offering to settle for half of the award of $5,700 made _by the State, now, therefore, be it ' RESOLVED, That the Corporation Counsel is hereby authorized and directed to enter into the proper stipulations to settle said matter with the heirs of'said Edmund Rice and to collect for the City the sum of $2,850.
