OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK CIL, RESOLUTION — GENERAL FORM PRESENTED BY COMMISSIONI WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Public Works has reported, in accordance with, Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the period from May 16 to 313 1958 which rendered necessary the employ- ment of certain employees of the Department of Public Works for more i than eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the following work: Emergency street,building, sewer & bridge repair Dispatching men for emergency repair work Dispatching motor vehicles for all emergency work Operating equipment on emergency repair work Emergency calls for sewer maintenance Removing debris from city streets Tending fires at Asphalt Plant on Sunday & holidays Taking care of complaints at city yards Drawing .plans & specifications for grading & paving jobs Mimeographing grade profiles Servicing municipal equipment Making up sidewalk assessments Inspecting city improvement jobs Completing payroll work Council File No. 187727 —By Adrian P. Winkel — Resolved, That the proper city offi- cers are hereby Authorized to pay cer- tain employees in the Department of Public Works for extra employment as described in the resolution. Adopted by the Council June 3, 1958. Approved June 3, 1958. (June 7, 1958) And WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances: Necessity of answering al: free from debris, keeping complaints at city yards, and paving jobs, need for keeping city equipment in by contractors on streets 1 emergency repair calls, keeping city streets fires at Asphalt Plant continuously, taking completing plans & specifications for grading grade profiles, completing sidewalk assessments, good running condition, inspecting work,do,rie & sidewalks and completing payroll�wQrk,:! THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED That the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay the employees who performed such work in accordance with the provisions of the Council's salary ordinance, Ordinance no. 6446.
