RESOLVED, that Price Electric Company be permitted to
remodel an existing parking lot at the northwest corner of
East Fifth and Sibley Streets, described as the southeasterly
5 feet of Lot 5, except the southwesterly 14 feet thereof,
and all of Lot 6 except the southwesterly 14 feet thereof,
Block 9,.Vgiitney and Smiths Addition to St. Paul, in accordance
with applicant's plans approved April 17, 1958, and subject to
compliance with the provisions of all ordinances-governing the
operation of parking lots, and subject to the further condition
that sidewalks abutting said pr emises be kept clean and free

Dear Sir:
This is in the matter of the application of the Price Electric Company for a
permit to remodel an existing parking lot on property located adjacent to the
northwest corner of East Fifth and Sibley Streets. This property is described
as the southeasterly 5' of Lot 5, except the southwesterly 14' thereof, and
all of lot 6'except the southwesterly 14' thereof, Block 9, Whitney and Smiths
Addition to St. Paul. The zoning is light industry. A public hearing is not
required in the matter.
The property under consideration has been used as a public parking lot and has
a frontage of 48' on Sibley Street and 134' on east Fifth Street. The appli-
cants.propose to use this property as a public, customer, and employee parking
lot for the Price Electric Company. This applicantion, if granted, would
authorize the applicant to install a 22' driveway on Sibley Street.
The proposed lay -out and operation has been approved by the Traffic - Engineer
and the proposed development meets existing standards for parking facilities.
Field investigation discloses no basic objection from the standpoint of ad-
jacent land uses or traffic. The proposed driveway should improve the operation
of the parking as at present the only access to the parking area is from an
alley on the west. ^
In consideration of these factors, the Zoning Board recommends that this permit
to install this 22' driveway in connection with an existing parking lot be
granted in accordance with applicant's plans approved April 17, 1958.
