ON— GENERAL FORM PRESENTED BY COMMISSIONE DATE .18836; COUNCIL NO FILE WAS, the Commissioner of Public Utilities has reported, in accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency 6mur the period from JUly lst to July 15th 1958 inc:, which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the Water Department for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the following works jlj Repairing Filtration Plant equipment 2 Working extra shifts at Filtration Plant and at various ptunping stations: �3� Patting Stillwater tank in service. 4 Finishing installation of, and repairing water mains and service connections: �5� faking emergency calls at Storeyard: 6 Driving country crew to and from work. AND WHEREAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances: 1 Necessary to do work during low consumption hours. 2 I11Yess of employees on regular shifts. 3 Necessary to continue work until tank was filled• 4 In order to give consumers water and fire protection as soon as possible: �5j Nights and SMdaysi 6 On account of scattered work locations. THEMORE., BE IT FMOLVED, that the proper city officers are hereby authorized.to -pay the employees who performed such work in accordance with the provisions of the Council's Salary Ordinance.-Ordinance L'•,.
