WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Libraries, Auditorium, Museums and Stadia has reported in
accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the
period from November 1 through November 28, 1959 which rendered necessary the employment
of certain employees of the Department of Libraries, Auditorium, Museums and Stadia,
Bureau of Auditorium, for more than eight hours per daffy or forty hours per week in
doing the following work:
Operate switchboard, ventilating systems, run ice plant and supervise
during road shows, hockey games, opera and other events held in the
building.
and WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances:
No other trained help available to wD rk during the various attractions
held in the building, this time includes Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper City Officers are hereby authbrized to pay
the employees who performed such work in accordance with the provisions of the Council's
Salary Ordinance No. 6446.
