Transfer the area bounded by Victoria, Lafond, Grotto, and Edmund from the 4th prct. (Fire Station, University & St. Albans) to the 10th prct. (Drew School). This change is recommended to enable use of the Drew School as a polling place for the 10th prct., the former polling place being no longer available. The above changes have been kept to a minimum because of the major redistricting which will be necessary in 1961 in order to comply with the 1962 legislative reapportionment. The changes recommended have been coordinated with the anticipated changes in 1961. espectf ully submitted, J Usk)- 3e2 eph R. OKONESKI City Clerk and Commissioner of Registration DONALD T. NYSTROM Supervisor of Elections December 3, 1959• 9A Commissioner Bernard T. Holland, Chairman, Election Committee of City Council, Saint Paul. Dear Sir: In order to provide for population shifts and to make better use of voting places, I recommend that the following changes be made in precinct boundaries: WARD. 1 Transfer the area bounded by Arcade, Jenks, Forest and Sims from the 3rd prct. (Johnson High School) to the 11th prct. (Lockwood Playgrounds). This change is recommended to eliminate a steep climb to the polling place for the voters of the affected area. WARD 5 Transfer the area bounded by Eagle, Mississippi giver, Western extended, and Omaha R.R. tracks from the 5th prct. (Upper Levee) to the 1st prct. (Joy Bros. Motor Car Co.). Renumber the present 14th prct. to 5th prct. This change is recommended because of the removal of nearly all houses from the area by May of 1960. WARD Transfer the area bounded by King, Manomin, Morton and Cherokee Park from the 7th prct. (Douglas School) to the 8th prct. (Shekinah Lodge). This change is recommended in order to place the only available polling place, Shekinah Lodge, within the precinct boundaries. (continued) i I e►►uap ►► •te rn• ioi o c,u 1 CIT YiQ J.
