Mor�an Re�ional Trail is an existing re�ional bicycle and pedestrian trail that runs adjacent to Shepard Road between Hi�h�vav 5 and ]nterstate 35E; and WHEREAS, the trail is within City owned ri�ht of �uay or within Ciasby Farm Rejional Park; and WHEREAS, the trail is operated and maintained bv the City Parks and Recreation Department; and WHEREAS, Federal Transportation Enhancement (SAFETEA-LL�} Punds and Ameiican Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) stimulus funds have been allocated for renov2tina aild makin� safety improv�ments to the trail; and WHEREAS, the use of the Federal SAFETEA-LU and ARRA funds stipulate that these trail improvements remain in place for at least 15 years; and WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department will continue to operate the h�ail as a public facility for the foreseeable future and for no less than 15 years. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council declares that fllis segment of the Samuel H. Morgan Regional Trail will continue to serve as a pubiic bil<e and pedestrian irail facility for no less than 15 years.
