November 25, 1959 1 Mr. Joseph Okoneski L City Clerk Building Dear Sir: This is in the matter of the application of Peltz & Engabl Truck Company for a permit to install and operate a new filling station for private use on property located on the south side of Acker Street between Lightner Place and Jackson Street. The property is described as Lots 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11, Block 4, Drake's Second Addition. The zoning is light and heavy industry and has been since the adoption of the Ordinance in 1922. This property is presently being used as a parking lot and garage for trucks used in connection with the applicant's trucking firm. The site has a frontage of 295 feet along east Acker Street and 106.84 feet along Jackson Street, resulting in a total area of approximately 31,517 square feet. North across Acker Street are vacant lots and one single - family residence which fronts on Jackson Street; south and adjoining is vacant property owned by the Great Northern Railroad; east across Jackson Street are vacant lots; west and adjoining is a vacant lot, farther west is a single - family residence fronting on Lightner Place. The Traffic Engineer has approved the plan which meets the standards for this type of facility. Field investigation discloses no basic objection. In consideration of the above factors, the Board of Zoning recommends the granting of a permit for a filling station for private use on the above described property in accordance with plans approved October 22, 1959.
