Section 1. That Ordinance No. 7607, approved February 13,
1935, as amended, be and the same is. hereby further amended by inserting
in its proper alphabetical order the following specification for:

SUPERVISING GARDENER
Duties and responsibilities:
Under supervision, to supervise and to perform general gardening
work in the operation of the City's greenhouses and conservatory,
and to supervise the planting and maintenance of floral displays
in parks and public grounds; and to perform related work as
assigned.
Examples of work performe
To supervise the propagation of plants from seeds and slips.
To supervise the transplanting, cultivation, potting and repotting
of plants.
To spray plants, to weed gardens. to lift, dry, store and replant
bulbs, and to supervise employees engaged in such work.
To assist in planning themes for floral shows and floral beds for
parks and public grounds.
To be in charge of the conservatory in the absence of the Supervisor
of Floriculture.
Minimum qualifications:
High school graduation and four years' experience in gardening and
flower culture work, one year of which shall have been as
Gardener in the City service.
