(,' 0 X13 v 7,,^>,' 7,70 , 4LL4-) PETITION /JJJ/ WE, THE UNDERSIGNED, owners, and residents. of the neighborhood affected, protest the proposed opening of Wheeler Avenue across the railroad tracks between Edmund and Thomas Avenue. . We urge the Council to recon- sider their action and call the Council1s. attention to the following facts: i. The opening of Wheeler Avenue across the railroad tracks . will of necessity result in more traffic to the area North of the tracks as vehicles make use of this street in an effort to stay off of University Avenue. This additional traffic will increase the danger to the numerous ,small children in this residential neighborhood, raise dust and dirt and would create a noise problem and reduce property valuations. ° l 2. In view of the fact that Wheeler Avenue does not continue as a through street to the North for more than a relatively short . distance, this opening does not appear to be part of a plan benefitting the City as a whole and it is. doubtful that anyone could possibly benefit by this opening. 3. The residents and owners of the property North of the actual street being opened never were. formally or informally advised or consulted in connection with the proposed street opening and have never had an opportunity to make their views known. The undersigned residents and property owners wish the Council to rescind their act n. WOW Y ]Address O_ wne r / -7 y 'x/ , -7 7 P Li . 4. :_ qs 3i 6' Y.
