WAS, the Commissioner of Public Utilities has reported, in accordance
with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency
during the period from May 16th to May 31st 1959 inc *, which
rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the
WatiM Department for more than eight hours per day or forty hours
per•veek in doing the following work: 11
j lj Supervising engineering work on new 30" Highland main*
2 Handling meter reading cards received in the mail on Saturdays*
AND WH15S M, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and
circumstances:
�1� In order to speed completion of job and put main in service*
2 In order to have readings ready for billers on Monday*
THMWORE,p BE IT RS,SOhVRD, that the proper city officers are hereby
authorized to pay the employees who performed such work in
accordance with the provisions of the Council's Salary Ordinance,
Ordinance No * 6+46
