Preliminary Order #191368 May 23, 1959
P E T I T I O N
• J
We, the undersigned, are property owners of record on Montana
Avenue between Dunlap and Lexington Avenues in the City of
St. Paul, County of Ramsey, State of Minnesota.
It is our wish that the St. Paul City Council Order #191368
for the construction, reconstruction, and repair of the side-
walk on both sides of Montana Avenue from Dunlap Street to
Lexington Avenue, be rescinded for the following reasons:
1. The sidewalks are now in satisfactory
condition with only minor flaws, none of
which is a hazard to life or limb of
pedestrians.
2. The addition of a sidewalk at 1154 West
Montana would serve no purpose since it
would connect with no other walk at the
west end nor provide pedestrian route to
anywhere else. The street dead -ends into
the Como Park golf course at this point.
3. It would be an unnecessary, undesired,
and unwarranted expense to the property
owners who are, with rare exceptions, the
only pedestrians using the walks referred
to in this order.
4. The available manpower, concrete, and time
required for this proposed project could be
better utilized in other areas where such
projects would serve greater pedestrian
traffic.
