WHEREAS, the City Architect has requested the City Council
to hold a public hearing to consider any complaints about the
expense incurred by the City of Saint Paul in removing a
dangerous structure at No. 674 W. Water Street, more particularly
described as Lot 9, Cox's First Addition to St. Paul, and
WHEREAS, it appears that the last known record owner of the
property is James Hammer, 674 W. Water Street, Saint Paul 7,
copies of proceedings herein having been sent to Miles Lord,
Attorney General of State of Minnesota, 102 State Capitol, Saint
Paul, Jos. M. Robertson, Commissioner of Taxation of the State of
Minnesota, 156 E. Sixth Street, Eltor Dehn, Land Commissioner's
Office, 286 City Hall, and Mrs. D. M. CeCourcy, Commissioner,
113 City Hall, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Saint
hold a public hearing in the Council Chamber at 10 o'clock

A statement of expense has been filed with the City
this date for the purpose of creating a lien on the
known as 674 West Water Street, Lot 9, Coxrs First
Saint Paul. This property is owned by

Mrs. D. M. DeCourcy, Land Comsr, 113 City Hall
In this matter the following resolutions were adopted by the
City Council:
C.F. 188483, adopted by the Council July 23, 1958 (published
July 29, 1958) -set a public hearing at 10 A. M. August 19, 1958.
C.F. 188821, adopted by the Council August 20, 1958 (published
August 23, 1958) ordered the wrecking by and at the separate cost
and expense of the owner, occupant, or other person in control
thereof.
C.F. 189106, adopted by the Council September 11, 1958 (published
September 13, 1958) directed the Commissioner of Parks, Playgrounds
And Public Buildings to enter the premises and wreck and remove
the two story single family dwelling thereon, and do any and all
things therein necessary for the protection of life, limb, and ad-
joining property.
C.F. 190268, adopted by the Council December 11, 1958 (published
December 13, 1958) approved the specifications prepared by this of-
fice for the wrecking of this building and authorized the Purchas-
ing Agent to advertise for bids.
C. F. 190560, adopted by the Council January 9, 1959 (publish-
ed January 17, 1959) approved the award of the contract for
wrecking to Patsy 'Wrecking Co. for the sum of $239.00 in
accordance with specifications and Formal Bid No. 7477.
C. F.192340, adopted by the Council May 15, 1959 (published
May 23, 1959) provided that the wrecking expense of $239.00
and the expense of the Department of,Parks, Playgrounds And
Public Buildings in connection with the condemnation in the
amount of $62.59, making a total of $301.59, be paid out of
Wrecking.Condemned Buildings Account 31 G 22, and in the event
said sum proves collectible from the owner, same is to be cred-
ited to 31 G 22.
The building has now been satisfactorily wrecked and a Regis-
tered Bill mailed to the owners.
We are requesting that you hold a public hearing with ten
daysr notice to consider any complaints about the expenses in-
curred and to confirm the amount.
The Council resolution confirming the expense should end with
a directive to the City Clerk to file a statement of expense
for the purpose of securing a lien on the property.
