Dear Sir:
This is in the matter of the application of the Northwestern Hanna Fuel
Company for a permit to install and operate a private filling station.
on•property• located on the north side of Dayton Avenue between Pascal
and unimproved Albert Streets. The legal description is Lot 18,
Boulevard Addition. The zoning is Heavy industrial. A public hearing
is not required.
This property has been used for many years for the Northwestern Hanna
Fuel Company operation. The applicant now proposes to install one
gasoline pump island and one 83000 gallon underground gasoline tank for
their own use. The property under consideration fronts on Dayton*Avenue.
There is one existing driveway to Dayton Avenue which will be used in
connection with this new facility. The adjoining'land uses are: north
and adjoining is'the site of an Erickson Petroleum Company filling
station; south across Dayton Avenue is undeveloped industrially zoned
land; west and adjoining is the applicant's truck garage; east "and
adjoining is the applicantfs property which is part of the former coal
storage area.
The Fire Prevention Bureau has approved the proposed installation plans
which meet the standards for this type of facility. Field investigation
discloses no objections from the standpoint of adjacent land uses.
In consideration of the above factors., the Board of Zoning recommends
the granting of this petition to install a private filling station on
the above described property in accordance with plans approved June 18,
1959.
Sincerely,
gG&t C
