L! / 1lVJM1M1dd OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK /J COUNCIk-RESOLUTION— GENERAL FORM PRESENTED BY COMMISSION WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Public Works has reported �n accordance with ,_Section 53 of the 6ity Charter,__the existence of an emergency during the period from July 1 to July 15, 1959, which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the Department of Public Works for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per_week in doing the following work: Emergency street, building, sewer & bridge repair. Dispatching men for emergency repair work Dispatching motor vehicles for all emergency work Operating equipment on emergency repair work Emergency calls for sewer maintenance Removing debris from city streets Tending fire at Asphalt Plant on Sundays & holidays Council File No. 193224 —By Adrian P. Winkel — Resolved, That- the proper city offi- cers are hereby authorized to pay certain employes in the Department of Public Works for extra employment as described in the resolution. Adopted by the Council July 21, 1959. Approved July 21, 1959. (July 25, 1959) Taking care of complaints at city yards Drawing plans & specifications for grading & paving jobs Mimeographing grade profiles & revising house numbers Servicing municipal equipment Making up sidewalk assessments. Inspecting city improvement jobs AND WHEREAS;.THIS emgeggency arose by reason of the following facts and . circumstances: Necessity of answering all emergency repair calls, keeping city streets free from debris, keeping fires at Asphalt Plant continuously, taking complaints at City Yards, completing plans & specifications for grading &paving jobs, need for grade profiles and house numbers, completing sidewalk assessments, keeping city equipment in good running condition, and inspecting work done by contractors on street & sidewalk work. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED That the proper city.officers are hereby authorized to pay the employees who performed such work in accordance with the provisions of the Council's salary ordinance, Ordinance No. 6446.
