Hendricks, a'n employe of the Department of Public Safety of the City of Saint Paul, was injured on January 18, 1959, in a third party accident, while engaged in the performance of his duties for the Department of Public Safety, and the City has incurred medical expenses in the amount of $263.00 therefor, and the employe, by reason of said injury, was disabled for work from the date of the accident until February 2, 1959, being paid salary in the amount of $215.32 therefor; and WHEREAS, by reason of said accident, damages in the total amount of $243.65 were caused to the squad car owned by the City of Saint Paul and driven by the employe Eugene Hendricks; and WHEREAS, a settlement has been negotiated by the parties whereby the employe will receive the sum of $1,500; and the office of the Corporation Counsel is in receipt of Draft No. 93855 of Mutual .Service Casualty Insurance Company, insurers of Lowell Redmann, the third party involved in said accident, which draft is payable to the City of St. Paul in to amount of $721.97, in full settlement of the City's claim for medical expenses, salary and propbrty damage, now, there- fore, be it RESOLVED, The proper City officers are hereby authorized to accept said settlement of $721.97, in full payment for the City's ekpbnses arising as a result of said third party accident; that of said sum, $263.00 be credited to fund 31 -G1 -A; $215.32 be credited to Fund 7 -C -1, and $243.65 be credited to payment of Registered Bill No. 3 -2937 issued for that amount, for damages to the squad car involved; and be it further RESOLVED, The proper City officers are authorized to execute the necessary releases.
