WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Utilities has reported, in accordance
with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an )emergency
during the period from Daly 1st to July 15th 1959 inc., which
rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the
Water Department for more than eight hours per day or forty hours
per week in doing the following work:
1� Repairing Filtration Plant and various pumping station equipment.
2 Working extra shifts at various stations.
3 Taking emergency calls at Storeyardo
4 Finishing installation of, and repairing water mains, hydrants
and service connections:
W 5) Driving country crew to and from work locationsi
Reading gauges, various locations:
AND WBERM., this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and
circumstances:
1) Necessary tv do work during low consumption hours.
Illness of employees on regular shifts:
fl Nights and Sundays:
4) In order to speed repairs and installations.
5 Clln account of scattered work locations:
6) Necessary in order to keep lakes at proper levels:
TBEREF'OREp BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper city officers are hereby
authorized to pay the employees who performed such work in accordance
with the provisions of the Council's Salary Ordinance, Ordinance
No. 6446:
