RESOLVED, Rule 23.B of the City of 5aint Paui Civil Service Rules refets to categories that are no longer
current practice or policy of current City of Saint Paut business;
WHEREAS, the City has determined that it is in the best interest of the City to have the language of the Rule
be reflective of current practice and policy;
NOW THEREFORE BE TT RESOLVED, pursuant to the authority granted in Section 12.6 of the Saint Paul
City Cbarter, the City Council hereby approves and amends Rule 23.B as follows:
23.B - Reinstatement Aftet Resignation
Any employee who resigns, may, in the discretion of the Auman Resources Director, be placed on the reinsiatement
register and certified for reinstatement in accordance with Section 7 of these Rules, at any time within one � year
aRer such resignation; however, employees in the �°'°°��°°'�°'°�'�-'�•° followin cg ateeorv shall not be entitled to
reinstatement:
1. Employees who were suspended within one � year just prior to resignation or employees whose last
performance appraisal rating was unsatisfactory.

Any rights and privileges which would accrue to the employee following their reinstatement afrer resignation shall
aiso accrue to the employee if the employee actually begins work in a position following certification from any
eligible list within one � year of the employee's resignation; however, no seniority rights shall accrue within any
given job title except by service in the job title.
Whettever discretionary changes are made in accordance with ihis section by the Human Resources Director notice
shall be sent to the recognized �a�4 employee�roun for the title affected and the affected departments.
