Tews, Chief Engineer, the above referenced application of the Pure Oil Company for investigation and report. This is to advise you that I discussed this matter with Mr. Tews on August 21. A previous examination of the Pure Oil property and existing improvements had been made by me in connection with the Riverview Flood Control Program to be carried out by the U. S. Corps of Engineers. Mr. Tews and I examined the plans submitted, which show one tank to be.located in the existing enclosed storage area and the other in the area owned by this company and now used as a parking lot at the corner of Starkey and Water Streets. The proposed flood wa]l and dike will be constructed riverward and westerly from this area. Mr. Tews and I were in agreement that the installation of tanks as proposed will in no way interfere with the flood control plans. The plan as submitted is approved. r GMS: gt cc: Commissioner Winkel Eugene Avery Yours very truly, 0 M.
