Whereas, The Detention and Correc-
tions Authority of the City of Saint
Paul and the County of Ramsey,
through its Executive Director, has
arrayed at a tentative settlement with
WHEREAS, The Detention and Corrections Authority of
the City of Saint Maul and the County of Ramsey, through its
Executive Director,lhas arrived at a tentative settlement
with the general adjusters, Main and Baker, Inc., who repre-
sent the fire insurance carriers covering the workhouse farm
buildings, with respect to the loss sustained at the workhouse
farm which occurred as a result'of the fire at said premises
on the 31st of January,; 1959; and
j' WHEREAS, the property has heretofore been insured in
the name of the City of, Saint Paul and in consequence thereof
the checks are drawn -in the name of the City of Saint Paul
and are to be indorsed by the proper ,officer of the City of
Saint Paul; and
WHEREAS,. the total amount of settlement received from
the companies in separate checks was in the amount of Three
'Thousand Four Hundred Fifty =five and 91/100 Dollars ($3,455.91)
consisting of One Thousand Two Hundred Dollars ($1,,200.00) as
damage for the loss of the building and Two Thousand Two Hundred
Fifty -five and 91/100 Dollars ($2,255.91) representing recovery
for.the loss of the personal property; and
WHEREAS,. the'Joint Detention Commission has charge of the
real estate, the One Thousand Two Hundred Dollars ($1,2004,00) should
be contributed to their account and since the Joint Detention
Authority has charge of the operation, the balance should be con-
tributed to their proper account; now,-therefore, be it -
RESOL-VED,. That the proper officer of'the City of Saint Paul

amount of Three Thousand Four Hundred Fifty -five and 91/100 Do1;lars
($3,455.91.); and, be it _

instructed to deposit the said Three Thousand Four Hundred

Fifty -Five and 91 /100 Dollars($3,455.91) in City -
Account No. 31 KD 9, titled Insurance Recoveries,
and that said City officers be hereby authorized to
draw a check in the amount of One Thousand Two Hundred
Dollars ($19200.00) to,the Joint Detention Commission;
and, be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the proper City officers
be directed to draw a check in the amount of One Thousand
One- Hundred Twenty -Seven and 95/100 Dollars ($1,127.95)
which represents fiftyipercent (50 %), amount to the Joint
Detention Authority and payable to Ramsey County as its
proportionate share and that they further be authorized
to appropriate the balance of One Thousand One- Hundred
Twenty -Seven and 961100 Dollars ($1,127.96) to the
Joint Detention Authority Budget Fund held by the City
Comptroller.
