FELDMANN, Deputy Commissioner August 19, 1959 Mr. Milton Rosen Commissioner of Public Utilities 216 City Hall & Court House St. Paul 2, Minnesota Dear Commissioner: 19374.E DIVISION OF FIRE PREVENTION Howard J. Scannell, Chief In review of our conversation of the other day, I would appreciate your permission to utilize the hydraulic "Hi- Ranger" trucks used by your Lighting Maintenance crews. I believe that the units would be of definite value to us in a number of emergency situations. Of course, I realize that a unit could be at our disposal only if one happened to be available at your garage. If this arrangement can be worked out, I should like to train a number of my men in their operation at our drill tower, with an assist from one of your crewmen. I am FEO:em Thanking you for your consideration of this matter, Sincerely yours, 14 rank E. Oberg, Fire Chief DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC UTILITIES ^ CITY OF SAINT PAUL INTRA- OFFICE COMMUNICATION oajo8 August 209 1959 Commissioner Milton Rosen Department of Public Utilities Dear Commissioners Re Fire Chief Oberg•s request for use of our "bucket" trucks, we do not object to this use for training purposes. May we suggest that they contact our foreman at CA 2 -7133 the day befoie they propose to use them so the truck or trucks will be made available? We use these two more than any others. Chief Oberg mentions the use of this equipment in emergency situations. I think we should warn him that the probabilities are not good that these trucks will be on hand when needed. Yours )(ery truly, HOW RD LOWE Superintendent of Lighting HL .er
