WHEREAS, THE COMMISSIONER OF LIBRARIES, AUDITORIUM, MUSEUMS, AND STADIA
HAS REPORTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 51 OF THE CITY CHARTER,
THE EXISTENCE OF AN EMERGENCY DURING THE PERIOD FROM MARCH 1
TO 31, 1959, INCLUSIVE, WHICH RENDERED NECESSARY THE EMPLOYMENT
OF CERTAIN EMPLOYEES IN THE DEPARTMENT OF. LIBRARIES, AUDITORIUM,
MUSEUMS, AND STADIA, BUREAU OF PUBLIC LIBRARIES, FOR MORE THAN
EIGHT HOURS PER DAY OR FORTY HOURS PER WEEK IN DOING THE FOLLOWING
WORK:
(1) COVERING BOOKMOBILE SCHEDULE, AND (2) BEING PRESENT
AT BRANCH DURING EVENING MEETINGS OF THE PUBLIC,
AND WHEREAS, THIS EMERGENCY AROSE BY REASON OF THE FOLLOWING FACTS AND
CIRCUMSTANCES:
COVERING BOOKMOBILE SCHEDULE AND BEING PRESENT DURING EVENING
MEETINGS OF THE PUBLIC,
1HEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, THAT THE PROPER CITY OFFIVERS ARE HEREBY AUTHORIZED
TO PAY THE EMPLOYEES WHO PERFORMED SUCH WORK IN ACCORDANCE WITH
THE
COUNCILMEN
