terminal building in the United States
except the new terminal at Wort
,WHEREAS every major airport terminal building in the United States
except the new terminal at Wold . Chamberlain Tield, offers cocktail
lounge facilities, and
WHEREAS design of the new Told- Chamberlain terminal is nearly Complete
and .construction of-the several new facilities at Wold- Chamberlain is
now well under way, and
W ER A$ Wold- Chamberlain International Airport is now thirteenth in
volume size in the United States and will certainly be at least
ninth, and very possibly_ higher, in rank within the immediate future
years, and
WiDKREAS provision of complete air terminal facilities is. of direct
assistance to Minnesota business development, Twin Cities economic
growth, tourism, and a generally modern approach to offering all
facilities in the new terminal structure, and
MUREAS. Senators Keller and .S'chu2 tz and Representatives Pri fret and
Popovich have introduced Senate File- 1441 and House File 1573, to
,permit the Metropolitan Airports Commission to issue an on -sale
1 ici tse for private enterprise operation at the new Wo1d- Chamberlain
NQW, TB'R7TORE, BE IT RESOLVED That the Common Council of the City
of Saint Paul by this resolution adopted on the 2nd-day of April,
1959, encourages the action of the Senate and-House of Representatives
authors of -this ZegisIdtion, urges the members_of the House and Senate'
from Ramsey County to work for, the adoption of this legislation and
endorses the principle of "early_ action _tomrd_ providing the' Twin
Cities' International 'Airport, Wold- Chambei` a_in Fi eld, with-complete
concession services for the reasons above sated:
