Resolved, That the proper city officers
are hereby authorized to pay certain
employes in the Water Department for
extra employment- as described in the
resolution.

WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Pablic Utilities has reported, in accordance
tith Section 53 of.the City Charter, the existence of an emergency
during the period from February lst to February 15th 1959 inc:,
which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of .the
Water Department for more than eight hours per clay or forty hours
per week in doing the following work:
1j Repairing Filtration Plant equipment:
2 Working extra shifts at various stations:
3 Taking emergency calls at Storeyard.
4 Finishing installation of, and repairing water mains, hydrants,
and service connections:
(5) Driving country crew to and:from work locations
6) Makin repairs�to Snelling reservoir:
AND WHEREAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and
circumstances:
1 Necessary' to do work during low consumption hours.
2 Illness of employees on regular shifts.
3 lights and Sundays:
4 In,order to speed repairs and installations.
5 On account of scattered work locations,
6 In order-to speed repairs.
T ORE., BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper city officers are hereby
authorized to pay the employees who performed such work in accordance
with the provisions of the Council's Salary Ordinance, Ordinance
No: 6446.
