THE. COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That Ordinance- No. 7607, approved February 13,
1935, as amended, be and the same is hereby further amended by inserting
in their proper alphabetical order the following specifications, for:

Duties and responsibilities:
Under supervision, to perform routine engineering work in the
investigation, drafting, and design of water works projects;
and to perform related work as assigned.
Examples of work performed:
To assist in the platting of frontages, making of cost estimates,
clearing with property owners, etc. , in connection with'water
main petitions.
To compute size of water service connections for residential and
commercial new construction as well as replacement connections.
To compute deposit estimates on all larger service connections,
automatic fire connections, and temporary mains.
To assist in the preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates
of large water works projects.
To do design work independently on small water works projects and
to compute quantities and costs.
To act as inspector on water works projects.
Minimum qualifications:
X High school graduation and six years' experience in the design,
j construction or inspection of water works projects, at least
three years -of which shall have been as a senior engineering
• draftsman.

U_ nder supervision, to perform difficult engineering work in the
investigation, design and planning of water works projects;
and to perform related work as assigned.
Examples of work performed:
To supervise draftsmen and assist design engineers in �e planning
and layout of water works construction projects.
To prepare cost data and complete cost estimates for construction
projects.
To supervise the recording of all engineering maps and records.
To act as inspector on construction projects.
Minimum qualifications:
Two years of college training in engineering and eight years' experience
in water works engineering. at least two years of whi °rah shall have been
as an Assistant Water Department Technician. (No s bstitution for
education. )
