WHEREAS, the City Architect having requested the City
Council to hold a public hearing to consider any complaints
about the expense incurred by the City of Saint Paul, in removing
a dangerous structure at 674 West Water Street, more particularly
described as Lot 9, Cox's First Addition to St. Paul, the City
Council held a public hearing on June 4, 1959, to consider thg
expense and to confirm the amount thereof, and
WHEREAS, it appears that the City Council, pursuant to
Council File No. 188483, approved July 23, 1958,. published
July,29, 1958, st a public hearing to consider removing the
dangerous structure, andsaid Council, by Council File No. 188821,
approved August 20, 1958, published August 23, 1958, ordered the
wrecking by and at the sepamte cost and expense of the owner,
occupant, or other person in control thereof, and the said Council
by Council File No. 189106, approved September 11, 1958, published
September 13, 1958, directed the Commissioner of Parks, Playgrounds
and Public Buildings to enter upon the premises and wreck and remove
the building thereon and to any and all things therein necessary
for the protection of life, limb and adjoining property, and that
the City of Saint Paul has incurred the expense of $301.59 in
removing said structure; and
WHEREAS, it appears that James Hammer, 674,Water Street, West -St.Pai
iZ the record owner of said premises, copies of proceedings herein 7
having been sehit to Miles Lord, Attorney General of the State of Mini
Minnesota, 102 State Capitol, Saint Paul, Minnesota, Jos. M.
Robertson, Commissioner of Taxation of the State of Minnesota, 156
E. Sixth Street, Eltor Dehn, Land Commissioner's Office, 286
City Hall, and Mrs. D. M. DeCourcy, Commissioner, 113 City Hall,
Saint Paul, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council --of-the City of Saint Paul does
hereby confirm the amount of $301.59 to be the fair, true and
reasonable amount for such services incurred in removing the dan-
gerous structure; and be it

Register of Deeds.
