Whereas, Stanley H. Groh, a police
officer of the City of Saint Paul, was
Involved, by virtue of the performance

DATA
WHEREAS, Stanley H. Groh, a police officer of the City of
Saint Paul, was involved, by virtue of the performance of his duties
as a police officer on behalf of the City of Saint Paul, in an
extremely serious accident which occurred on December 6, 1955; and
WHEREAS, as a result of the aforementioned accident, said
Stanley Groh was hospitalized for an extended period of time to
December 12, 1956, at which time he returned to duty as a police
officer for the City; and
WHEREAS, there resulted to the aforementioned Stanley Groh,
as a result of the aforementioned accident, additional injuries
which could not be taken care of during the period of hospitalization
but nevertheless required additional surgery to correct; and
WHEREAS, as a result of the amount of <.tim oast, because
of th'e seriousness of his injuries, by the aforementioned Stanley
Groh, he will, on,June 4, 1959, have used-'up his entire amount of
available sick leave'; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Council of the City of
Saint Paul not to have this officer sustain any loss of salary
by virtue of the accident which said officer incurred through the
performance of his duties,
Now, Theref ore, be it
RESOLVED, That on the recommendation of the Department of
Public Safety and the Corporation Counsel's office, said Stanley H.
Groh be granted, pursuant to the Charter of the City of Saint Paul
and the Civil Service Rules Ordinance of the City of Saint Paul, a
leave of absence for d5sability,with pay, for a period of 30 days
commencing as of the 4th day of June, 1959..
