COU RESOL TI N— ENE J FORM whereas, In the interest of improv- r ing traffic conditions to and from the PRESENTED BY Adrian P. I east and, northeasterly portion of the COMMISSIONE DATE City of St. Paul and tributary area in Ramsey and Washington Counties, and WHERREAS, In the interest of improving traffic conditions to and from the east and northeasterly portion of the City of St. Paul and tributary area in Ramsey and Washington Counties, and to meet the requests from various civic organizations and individuals for the improvement of the route of Trunk Highway No. 212 into and through the City of St. Paul, it is necessary to take definite steps to protect the proposed right of way from residential and other developments, and WHEREAS, The Minnesota Highway Department is now in the process of making surveys and preliminary layouts for the purpose of determining a final and permanent location for Trunk Highway No. 212, and WHEREAS, It is desirable to limit both residential and commercial development within the right of way required for such extension so as to avoid economic waste and increased right of way.eost; therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the City Council of the City of St. Paul does hereby authorize and instruct the City Architect to withhold building permits along the proposed route of Trunk Highway No. 212 as outlined by the Commissioner of Public Works in the preliminary plans for the aforesaid highway construction, a copy of which pre- liminary plans will be furnished the City Architect, the general route for proposed T. H. No. 212 being described as follows: Entering the City of St. Paul at Larpenteur and the old Street Railway Company right of way, thence following the Street Railway Company right of way to a point southerly of Maryland Avenue, thence following along the northerly side of the right of way of the Chicago and. North Western Railway Company to a proposed underpass at or near Germain Street, thence in a southwesterly direction to a point just westerly of the intersection of Birmingham Street and York Avenue, thence extending southerly to intersect East Seventh Street at a point just easterly of Etna Street, thence extending southerly along a line easterly from Etna Street to an intersection with the Old Hudson Road.
