RESOLVED, That the Purchasing Agent, with the written consent thereto by the
Mayor and Comptroller, to be evidenced by their endorsements hereon, and with'
the consent of the Council, given hereunder, is hereby authorized, pursuant to
Section 291 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, to forthwith purchase,
without advertisement therefor or the receipt of competitive bids•in the premises -
993 Batteries for the uses and purposes of the Bureau of Civil Defense of the
City �of St. Paul and in the latter's behalf, of the aggregate purchase price
of $643.35 payable as •follows,
Fifty per cent thereof to be paid by the Federal Government and fifty per cent
to be paid by the City of Saint Paul:
RESOLVED FURTHER, that this represents and involves a case of an emergency where
failure to a r Rh as aforesaid, will work an injury to the City of Saint Paul,
and that th or ortion of said aggregate purchase price to be paid by the
City of Sai aul'� e sum of $321.68, and no more, shall be payable from the
fund of said ated as Civil Defense Expense Fund, Code 2- available
therefor as certified by the Comptroller.
