WHEREAS, THE COMMISSIONER OF LIBRARIES, AUDITORIUM, MUSEUMS, AND STADIA
HAS REPORTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 51 OF THE CITY CHARTER,
THE EXISTENCE OF AN EMERGENCY DURING :'HE PERIOD FROM APRIL 1 TO
309 1959, INCLUSIVE, WHICH RENDERED NECESSARY THE EMPLOYMENT OF
CERTAIN EMPLOYEES IN THE DEPARTMENT OF LIBRARIES, AUDITORIUM,
MUSEUMS, AND STADIA BUREAU OF PUBLIC LIBRARIES, FOR MORE THAN
EIGHT HOURS PER DAY OR FORTY HOURS PER WEEK IN DOING THE FOLLOWING
WORK:
(1) COVERING BOOKMOBILE SCHEDULE, AND (2) BEING PRESENT
AT BRANCHES DURING EVENING FUNCTIONS FOR NATIONAL LIBRARY WEEK,
AND WHEREAS, THIS EMERGENCY AROSE BY REASON OF THE FOLLOWING FACTS AND
CIRCUMSTANCES:
COVERING BOOKMOBILE SCHEDULE AND BEING PRESENT FOR EVENING
FUNCTIONS DURING NATIONAL LIBRARY WEEK,
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, THAT THE PROPER CITY OFFICERS ARE HEREBY AUTHORIZED
TO PAY THE EMPLOYEES WHO PERFORMED SUCH WORT( IN ACCORDANCE WITH
THE PROVISION OF THE COUNCIL'S SALARY ORDINANCE, ORDINANCE N0. 6446.
