WHEREAS, Saint Paul Pazks and Reccearion has con�ractaal relationships with Lancer Hospitality (Lancer) and the Como
Friends related to the operation of the Como Campus; and
WHEREAS, City staff work closely v✓ith the staff of both organizations on a daily basis in order to accomplish the seamless
provision of services at Como Pazk Zoo and Conservatory; and
WHEREAS, on a liuuted number of occurrences during 2009, City staff will be invited to participate in events, such as the
annual staff gathering in January and a Como Town "friends and family" night in June, that aze facilitated by Lancer and/or the
Friends in wluch food, beverage, and entertainment is provided as an integral part of the event, the cost of which is borne by
Lancer or the Friends; and
WHEREAS, the public purpose of these events are to: build upon eacisring working relarionships and develop new relationships
among individual staff groups, demonsttate appceciation for the ongoing cooperation, and recognize Campus-wide achievements
and establish new goals; and
NOW 'I'I�EREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Saint Paul Pazks and Recrearion staff are authorized to attendlparticipate in
relarionship building, appreciation, and recognirion events hosted by Lancer Hospitality and the Como Friends and accept their
donation of refreshments and services.

Initiating Problem, issues, Opportunity (Who, What, When, Where, Why):
The City staff at Como Patk Zoo and Conservatory work closely with the staffs of on-site pariner agencies Lancer Hospitality and
Como Friends to provide services and programs to over 1.9 million visitors annually. At key times of the yeaz, there is a need to bring
the combined stafFgroups together to communicate related to common issues and recognize the successes within the staffgroups. The
partner agencies offer to provide refresbments and services as par[ of the Campus-wide events.
