WHEREAS, Saint Paul Parks and Recreation, through its Adaptive Recreation Program offers many events, classes or acrivities
during the year; and
WHEREAS, the public purpose of these evznts is for Salnt Paul residents to expenence education, fun, self esteem, self reliance,
a sense of social belon�mg, and the elimination of boredom and loneliness; and
WHEREAS, many of these evznts, classes and ac[rviries are centered around the producrion of ineals and/or have food as part of
the activiry, Samt Paul Pazks and Recreation iequests permission to purchase food for the events (detailed on attached sheet);
and
WHEREAS, these Adaptive Recreation Program events are scheduled HuoughouY 2009 and require staff to participate workmg;
and
NOW THEI2EFORE SE IT RESOLVED, that Saint Paul Parks and Recreahon is authorized to purchase food for the Adaptive
Recreation Pcograms offeced and authonze staff working the events to participate in meals and other food offered.

These events or classes aze centered around the production of ineals ar have food at the activity. Currently, there are 16 named events
or classes which meet multiple times per yeaz. These activities and classes are part of the Adaptive Recreation programs offered to
Saint Paul residents for the purpose of education, fun, self esteem, self reliance, a sense of social belonging and the elimination of
boredome and loneliness.

activity -- staff still do not eat until all clients

which is paid by us to cover the staffing of the
activity. Staff do not eat until all clients have been
served.
Occasionally, there may be other programs added to our calendar of activities which include
food. As always, the staff do not eat until al] clients have been served.
