SPECIAL ASSISTANT
In order to facilitate the orderly handling of the
personal injury claims and lawsuits by our office, I hereby
recommend to the Council that they authorize the City's member-
ship in The Index System of Chicago, Illinois. The minimum
annual charge for this membership is $150, with an average
cost of 25 cents per inquiry claim and this would cover the
cost of using their services in approximately 600 cases.
The Index System is an organization that has a member-
ship of 1528 cities and various insurance companies and they
keep a complete history of all claims for personal injury made
by claimants against any of the member municipalities or com-
panies.
