WHEREAS, the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) is sponsoring the 2008 Public Policy Conference in
Washington, D.C. on September 8- 9, 2008; and
WHEREAS, Luz Maria Frias, Extemal Affa'us D'uector for the Mayor's Office, has been invited to be a panelist at the
conference; and
WEIEREAS, the CHCI has offered to pay foz the flight and hotel accommodations for attendance at the conference; and
WHEREAS, the City Council fmds that attendance at the conference by Ms. Frias will have a public purpose as it directly
relares to her employxnent and will showcase efforts the Mayor's Office is making in this important azea; now therefore be it
RE50LVED, that the City thanks the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute for its generous gifr of airfare and hotel
accommodations to and from the conference; and
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City accepts the gifi of the airfaze and hotel accommodations for Luz Maria Frias to travel to
the conference.
