WEEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Safety has reported, in acoordance with Section 53
of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the period from October 1, 1959
to October 31, 1959, which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees in the
Department of Public Safety for more than eight hours per day, or forty hours per week,
in doing the following work=
Maintenance work in the Bureau of Building Maintenance and
MEREAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances:

Altering the incinerator in the Public Health Building, 565 Cedar Street.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay
the employees who performed such work in accordance with the provisions of, the Council's
Salary Ordinance No. 6446.
