� WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul recognizes the desire of the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community
2 {"Community"}, a federally recognized, sovereign Indian tribe, to maintain strong and mutually supportive
3 intergovernmental relationships with the State of Minnesota, its agencies and local units of government through
a the lending o4 aid +n the form of funding and services to the best of its capabilities and as the Community deems
s feasible and appropriate, and
7 WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul and the Community wish to work together to ensure the safety of all those
s involved with and who may attend the Republican Nationaf Convention, and
tio WHEREAS, the Community has developed a full service fire and emergency services department which includes
11 a Mobile Medical and Incident Command Center ("Mobile UniY'), and

�3 WHEREAS, pursuant to the City of Saint Paul's request, the Community, through its Business Council, desires to
ia giR to the City of Saint Paul the use of the Mobile Unit for medicaf and emergency incident management purposes
i5 for the period of August 27, 2008 to September 6, 2008, during the City's hosting of the 2008 Republican
16 National Convention, and

� a W HEREAS, the gift of using the Mobile Unit for the above stated purpose and time is valued at $40,000.00, and

zo RESOLVED, the Saint Paul City Council extends to the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community its gratitude
z� and appreciation and hereby accepts the Community's gift for use of the Mobile Unit for medical and emergency
22 incident management purposes during the 2008 Republican National Convention and appropriates the gift to that
z3 purpose, and

z5 FINALLY BET IT RESOLVED, the Saint Paul City Council declares the use of the Mobile Unit is for public purpose
2s where the City accepts the gift for medical and emergencylincident management during the City's hosting of the
2� 2008 Republican National Convention.
