WEEPMS, the Commissioner of Public Utilities has reported, in accordance
with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency
during the period from October 1st to October 15th 1959 inc., )
which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of ,the
Water Department for more than eight hours per day or forty hours
per week in doing the following work:
1 Guiding a large group through the Filtration Plant.
2 Repairing chlorinator. -
3 Working extra shifts at various stations.
Taking emergency calls at Storeyard.
5 Finishing installation of and repairing water mains and
service connections:
(6) Driving country crew to and from work.
(7 Repairing leaks in old Mississippi River conduit. }
AND WAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and
