WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Public Works has reported in accordance-,with
Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency uring
the period from October 1 to October 15th: lwhich',:rendered necessary
the employment of certain employees of the Department of Public' Works
for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the
following work:

Inspecting city improvement jobs
And WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following facts and
circumstances:
Necessity of answering all emergency repair calls, keeping city streets
free from debris, keeping fires at Asphalt Plant continuously,itaking
complaints at city yards, completing plans & specifications for grading
& paving jobs, need for grade profiles and house numbers, completing side=
walk assessments, keeping city equipment in good running condition, and
inspecting work done by contractors on street & sidewalk work.-
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED That the proper
to pay the employees,who performed
