WHEREAS The City Clerk has reported, in accordance with Section
53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during
the period from Sept. 30th to October 13th which rendered
necessary the employment of certain employees of the City
Clerk's Office for more -than eight hours per day or forty
hours per week in doing the following work:
Preparing for the-,Special Election, November 3, 1959.
AND WHEREAS.- This emergency arose by reason of the following facts

and circumstances: z
The office was open until 9 P.M. from Sept. 30th to
October 13th for registration of voters in accordance
with State of Minnesota Election Laws,
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED That the proper city officers are hereby
authorized to pay the employees who performed such work in
accordance with the provisions of the Council's salary ordinance,
Ordinance No. 6446.
