Approved October 1, 1959. f (October 3, 1959) c NO. 194198 WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Utilities has reported, in accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the period from September 16th to September 30th 1959 inc., which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the Water Department for more than eight hours per daffy or forty hours per week in doing the following work: (1) Guiding a large group from Association of Commerce through Filtration Plant after regular hours: 2 Repairing heating system at Storeyard: 3 Working extra, shifts at various stations: 4 Taking emergency calls at Storeyard: 5 Finishing installation of and repairing water mains, hydrants, and service connections: (6) Driving country crew to and from work: (7 Reading gauges around the water -Mhed area: AND WHEREAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances: 1 Inspection of Plant by Assoc:of Camerce after regular hours: 2 In order to have heating system ready for use. 3 Illness of employees on regular shifts: 4 Nights and Sundays: 5 In order to speed repairs and installations: 6 On account of scattered work locations: 7 In order to keep lakes at proper levels: TEFEF'OREp BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay the employees who performed such work in accordance with the provisions of the Council's Salary Ordinance, Ordinance No. 64.46: COUNCILMEN Yeas Nays DeCourcy Holland Mortinson a2etersmr— Favor Rosen Winkel Against �rirs-�ic e�i�nt CPewritonJ OCT 1 1959 Adopted by the Council 19— OCT 11959 Approved 19 Mayor
