OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK C UN 1L RESOLU N- GENERAL FORM PRESENTED BY COMMISSIONER— DATE WHEREAS, The Commissioner of parks and Recreation and Public Buildings has reported, in accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the period from September 16 to 30, 1959, which rendered necessary the employ- ment of certain employees of the Department of Parks and Recreation and Public Buildings for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the following work: Supervision, operation, maintenance, care and protection of public parks and playgrounds and of their facilities. And WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the follow- ing facts and circumstances: Seasonal requirements for protection of public property and pursuit of depart- mental activities, such as: Heavy, week- end patronage of public parks and their facilities, the Zoo, Conservatory, refec- tories and golf courses; civic events and municipal sports and playground programs Council File No. 194197 —By Bernard T. Holland — Resolved, That the proper city offl- cers are employes in the epartment of Parks & Recreation & Public Bld gs. for extra employment as described in the resolution: Adopted by the Council October 1, 1959. Approved October 1, 1959. (October 3, 1959) requiring employee assistance beyond regular time; and trouble - shooting plumbing and equipment breakdowns and storm damage to boulevard trees. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay the employees who per- formed such work in accordance with the provisions of the Council's salary ordinance, Ordinance No. 64 6.
