WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul, under and by virtue
of the provisions of Laws of the State of Minnesota for 1959,
Chapter 549, and M.S.A. Section 268.04 et seq, as amended by
Laws 1959, Regular Session, Chapter 702, is authorized with the
consent "of the Commissioner of the Department of Employment
Security of the State of Minnesota to become an employer pur-
suant to the terms and conditions of the Minnesota Employment
Security Law, M.S.A. 268.04 et seq; and
WHEREAS, the Council by Resolution, Council File No.
194117, adopted and approved September 25, 1959, has elected
to become an employer pursuant to the provisions of the afore-
mentioned laws; and
WHEREAS, further, pursuant to the provisions of the
aforementioned laws, the City of Saint Paul is authorized to
levy taxes therefor and may include in its tax levy the amount
necessary to pay its obli §ations under and pursuant to the pro-

for the year 1960 be amended so as to set up a new item under
General Fund, 31 F 8, "Unemployment Compensation ", setting up
a fund in the amount of $135,000.00 ; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, That the item entitled "Real Estate
and Personal Property Taxes" under the column "Other Services"
as shown in the Financing Schedule of the Comptroller's 1960
budget be increased by the amount of $135,000.00.
