Re: Sanitary sewer assessment
on south side of Larpenteur Ave.
between Flandrau Street and
White Bear Avenue
We the undersigned have been notified of the forth coming hearing on
the sanitary sewer assessment on Larpenteur Avenue between Flandrau
Street and White.Bear Avenue on July 22, 1959, and are herewith
registering our protest as to the amount of the proposed assessment.
The sanitary sewer in question was completed at a cost of $10.10 per
foot (total cost). This would ordinarily be divided between the
property owners on both sides of the street and would amount to $5.05
per front foot for everybody concerned.
Since the Village of Maplewood is bordering Larpenteur Avenue and since
the Village of Maplewood has already connected a portion of Flandrau
Street to the sanitary sewer in question and since they have made no
plans to construct a separate -sewer for the residents north of Larpenteur,
therefore we, the property owners in line for assessment for this sani-
tary sewer, petition the Honorable City Councilcf the City of St. Paul
to contact the officers of the Village of Maplewood for the purpose of
negotiating an agreement to the effect that the property owners on the
north side of Larpenteur Avenue will take care of their part of the cost_
for the sanitary sewer construction in order to prevent discrimination
against the property owners of the City of St. Paul.
We respectfully request that the assessment to he property owners of the
City of St. Paul will not exceed 50% of the original cost:'
Trusting that you will give this matter your favorable consideration
