O'Connell City Clerk Building Dear Madam: OF SAINT PAUL SAINT PAUL 2,MINNISOTA June 15, 1960 This is in the matter of the application of the Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company for a permit for a 30 car employee parking'lot on property located on the northeast corner of Bush Avenue and Forest Street. The property is described as the west 16 feet of Lot 15, and all of Lots 16 and 17, Block 1, J. P. Gribben's Rearrangement "A ". The zoning is light industrial and has been since the enactment of the Ordinance in 1922. Until recently this site has been occupied by a filling station for which the City Council granted a permit in 1938. The applicant pro- poses to remove the filling station building and develop the site with a 30 car employee parking lot. The site has a frontage of 96 feet on Bush Avenue and 90 feet on Forest Street, resulting in a total area of 1 8,640 square feet. South across Bush Avenue is a parking lot and a variety of commercial activities which front on East Seventh Street, the remaining area is developed by the Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company with off- street parking and industrial uses. The Traffic Engineer has approved the plan which meets the required standards for this type of facility. Field investigation discloses no objection from the standpoint of adjacent land uses. In consideration of the above factors, the Board of Zoning recommends the granting of the permit for a 30 car employee parking lot on the above described property in accordance with plans approved May 5, 1960, HCW :FGI Encl.
