'WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Libraries, Auditorium, Museums and Stadia has reported in
accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency curing the
period from May 29th through duly 29 1960 which rendered necessary the employment of
certain employees of the Department of Libraries, Auditorium, Museums and Stadia,
Bureau of Auditorium, for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing
the following works
Operate -f ventilating systems during Wrestling matches, N.A.A•C•P. convention,
run ice plant for summer skating sessions, also to supervise during various
events held in the building and operate switchboard when needed.
and Wf mWp This emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances:
No other trained help available to work during the events held in the building.
This time includes Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That the proper City Officers are hereby authorized to pay the
employees who performed such work in accordance with the provisions of the Council's
Salary Ordinance No. 6446.
