Peterson — Milton Rosen — Whereas, The Council of the City,lO of Saint Paul has duly canvassed the •_ returns of the votes cast at the Special Election held in said City on the 28th day of June, 1960, pursuant to the Provisions of Chapter= 71,. VWJFV_e_) June 30. 1960 Whereas, The Council of the City of Saint Paul has duly canvassed the returns of the votes cast at the Special Election held in said City on the 28th day of June, 1960, pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 71, Article III, Sec. 10, Laws 1959, Extra Session, upon the ratification or rejection of the proposed question set out and provided for in the aforesaid Chapter 71, said question being; "'Shall Special School District No. 29 State of Minnesota, of the City of Saint Paul, be converted to and become an independent school district as-provided in Chapter 71, Article III, Sec. 10, Laws 1959, Extra Session, with limited taxing and bonding powers ? ", -and Whereas, It appears from said returns and the canvass thereof that 239234 electors voted in favor of the ratification and adoption of said independent school district, and 30,572 electors voted against the ratification and adoption thereof, and Whereas, Chapter 710 Article III, Sec. 10, yaws 1959, Extra Session provides that a majority of the votes cast at the election on the question must approve the proposed conversion before said conversion becomes effective, therefore, be it Resolved, That the proposed ratification and adoption of the proposed independent school district is hereby declared to have failed to receive the necessary majority of the votes cast, and therefore to have failed of adoption.
