WHEREAS, The City Clerk has reported,-in accordance with Section 53
of the City, Charter, the existence of an emergency during the
period from June 22nd to -June 29th which rendered necessary _
the employment of certain employees of the City Clerk's Office for °
more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing
the following work:
The office was open two nights for instruction
meetings for election judges and to enable the judges
to pick up supplies for election day.
The office was open from 6 A.M. to 10 P.M;
Election Day.
And WHEREAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts
and circumstances:
Preparing for the election of June 28, 1960.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED That the proper city officers are hereby
authorized to pay the employees who performed such work in
accordance with the provisions of the Council's salary
ordinance, Ordinance No. 6446,
